Ultra-Containment Berms®

Stake Wall Model

Portable secondary containment berm for drums, frac tanks, equipment and vehicles

The Ultra-Containment Berm, Stake Wall Model is a portable berm that helps capture leaks, drips, and spills to prevent them from contaminating and polluting the environment.

The Stake Wall Model’s design features flexible polyurethane stakes that allow the sidewalls to spring into place automatically –even after being bent in either direction. This makes it perfect for spill sites or containment areas, because it allows drums and trucks to roll over the walls without breaking their upright structure.
Key Features:
  • Easily folds for transport
  • No set-up required – just unfold and the sidewalls automatically spring into their vertical position
  • Custom sizes available.
  • Vertical sidewall supports located every 12". Each support features a built-in "living hinge" at its base, which allows sidewalls to collapse in either direction. Collapsed sidewalls spring back automatically.
Compliance:
  • Meets SPCC and EPA Container Storage Regulation 40 CFR 264.175 Spill Containment Regulations.

What is the operating temperature range for the Containment Berms?
XR5 - Max: 160°F, Min: -30°F
Urethane - Max:  160°F, Min: -45°F
Copolymer-2000:  Max 160°F, Min:  -25°F

What are the weights of the different materials?
XR5 - 30 oz. / sq. yard
Urethane - 32 oz. / sq. yard
Copolymer 2000 - 25 oz. / sq. yard

What if I need to use the Ultra-Containment Berm with a chemical that is not listed in the compatibility guide?
If the chemical is not listed in the guide, chances are that chemical has not been tested with the material.  If we cannot get a definite answer from our engineering staff, we can send a testing kit to your customer for a 30 day immersion test.

Can custom sized Containment Berms be ordered?
Yes, we can make Containment Berms in custom sizes in virtually any length and width.

What about custom heights?
At present, the standard height for the Foam Wall Model Containment Berm is 2" and 4" but can also be made in heights up to 12".  The Stake Wall Containment Berm and Ultimate Containment Berm are available with 12" sidewalls.  The Economy Model, Rapid Rise, Collapsible Wall  and Compact Model Containment Berms can be made with sidewall heights of 12", 18" or 24".

What freight class do the Containment Berms ship under?
Ultra-Containment Berms ship from our factory in N. Augusta, SC 29860 at class 125.

What is included in the repair kit and how does it work?
The repair kit is simply a 11” x 36” piece of matching material and instructions on how to apply it to the Berm.  The only other item required is an industrial heat gun.

Are there replacement parts available?
Replacement parts are available as follows:

  • Ultimate Model - Replacement PVC sidewall assemblies (p/n 3008403)

  • Ultimate Model - Replacement sidewall stakes (p/n 8370)

  • Ultimate Model - Replacement plate for sidewall stakes (p/n 8371)

  • Stakewall Model - Replacement sidewall stakes (p/n 8370)

  • Stakewall Model - Replacement plate for sidewall stakes (p/n 8371)

  • Collapsible Wall Model - Replacement PVC sidewall assemblies (p/n 3008403)

What is the optional Ground Tarp for?
The Ground Tarp provides added protection from punctures or damage from beneath the Containment Berm.  Standard procedure is to sweep the area of any rocks or debris, then place the Ground Tarp down followed by the Containment Berm.

How do I know what size Ground Tarp to order?
For smaller standard sized Berms, the 11' x 11' Ground Tarp is recommended (p/n 8311).  For larger Berms, the general rule of thumb is to add 4' to both the length and width dimensions of the Berm.  (e.g. a 16' x 64' Ground Tarp would be used for a 12' x 60 Containment Berm.

What are the Track Belts for?
Track Belts are strips of very heavy-duty material (Reinforced PVC) that lay down inside of the Berm.  They take the wear and tear from tires of the vehicles that are driving in and out of the Berms.  Thereby extending the life of the product.

There are so many different models.  What's the difference?
The thing that's different in each model is the way the sidewalls operates.  Some need to be manually set-up while others require very little or no set-up.  Each application will dictate which model is the best choice.  On each product page is a link that reads, "See how the sidewalls work".  This will show a short animation of how the sidewalls work.

Can I get a drain in my Containment Berm?
Yes, drains can be added at a minimal additional cost.

I already have a Berm.  Can I add a drain myself?
Yes, installing a drain in the field is a fairly simple process.  Click here to download a set of instructions.  You will also need to purchase a bulk head fitting (p/n 1073) and a drain plug (p/n 9960)
