Plastic resin pellets lost during the manufacturing of plastic products are polluting waterways. Often referred to as microplastics or “nurdles,” these resin pellets are being ingested by marine life and wildlife, and they cannot pass through the digestive tracts of most animals, which leads to malnutrition and starvation.
