In this video, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about our nestable spill pallets. Note that our training videos are mostly designed to help our distributors better understand our products but can also be helpful to users of the products, as well.

Hello everyone, and welcome to another UltraTech product training session. Today, we are talking about the Ultra-Spill Pallet, Nestable Model. The nestable model looks and functions just like all of our other four drum spill pallets, but the advantage and the benefit of this particular model is, of course, that it is able to nest.
You can see in these pictures that the containment sump portions stack very nicely, the nest. And so we’re able to get many more of these into a stack versus our other four drum spill pallets. You can see that the way we do it typically is that we’ll stack the grates on top of the sumps. So how much more space does it actually save?
Well, let’s take a look at the nestable model versus one of our other four drum spill pallets, the economy model. Truckload quantities with the economy model, we can get 88 of those on a 53-foot truck. With the nestable model, we get a whopping 384 pallets on that same 53-foot truck. So you can very quickly see that if storage or shipping is of any concern that the nestable model is a good solution.
As far as some of the specifics, the weight capacity is 6,000 pounds uniformly distributed load containment capacity is 66 gallons, which will meet, actually exceed the EPA regulations and meet the SPCC requirements. I’ll put a link down below to another video that helps to explain the EPA regulations in further detail.
They are made with 100% polyethylene construction. They’re rotationally molded at our factory in Ohio. And we use polyethylene because one, it will not rust or corrode, and two, because it has excellent chemical resistance because of the design. The nestable model only has a two-way forklift, entry, or pallet jack entry as compared to our other four drums, spill pallets.
All of those have a four-way forklift entry. Like all of our other four drums spill pallets, it does have a removable grill. So this will, of course, be necessary when you are nesting them or stacking them. And also it’s very helpful for spill cleanups or just for visual inspections. Options. There is a drain available; it’s a three quarter inch drain.
It’s an inexpensive add-on and makes cleanup easier. And there is also a ramp available that’s part number 0676. As far as applications go for the nestable model, it’s just like our other four drums. Typically they are going to be indoor applications could be manufacturing, warehousing, chemical processing, property management, auto service, any number of different industries where these could be used.
Really anywhere there’s a 55-gallon drum or any other container that might need spill containment is a place where you could use the nestable model. So why would you want a nestable model spill pallet? Well, the first and obvious reason of course is that it’s nestable or stackable. And as you saw, when I spoke about the truckload quantities, you can get a whole lot more of these into a truckload or into a stack versus our other four drum spill pallets.
So if freight or storage is a concern, it’s certainly worth a look. It also was one of our lower profile spill pallets at 10 inches. There’s only one spill pallet plus that’s a lower profile than this. Why wouldn’t you want a nestable spill pallet? Well, one it’s not the least expensive option available.
So if you’re budget conscious, then you might be looking at one of our other economy model spill pallets. It also only has two-way forklift access. So if you need the four-way forklift access, then one of our other four drum spill pallets might be the way to go. And lastly, the weight capacity: it has a 6,000 pound weight capacity, which is right up there with our other spill pallets, but there are two other four drum spill pallets with a greater weight capacity. So if that’s a concern then one of those other two might be the solution. Other products to consider when you’re looking at the nestable model spill pallets, we do have, as I mentioned, a lower profile spill pallet plus, even lower profile spill decks, we have hard top spill pallets for outdoor storage, and we have steel spill pallets.
