You can’t fit a square peg in a round hole. And you can’t fit a square Drain Guard in a round catch basin. And, fortunately for you… and your customers, you don’t even have to try.
Our team of rocket surgeons and brain scientists took the Economy Frame Drain Guard and re-engineered it so that it would fit round drains! Crazy, I know. Elon Musk said it couldn’t be done*. Bill Gates said we were wasting our time.** Mark Benioff said, “get off my property before I launch my robot security guards!”***
So… technically, my opening statement wasn’t exactly accurate. But hey, I’m a marketing guy, it’s what I do! A standard Drain Guard like the Oil & Sediment Model can fit a round drain, it just needs to be trimmed to fit that shape. But as the famous meme lady said, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”. But beyond time, there’s the additional benefit of having a catch basin insert that won’t drop into the bottom of the drain when the grate is lifted off. That’s the cool thing about our “framed” Drain Guards.
We’ve had Drain Guards with frames for quite some time now. And it stands to reason that we would start with units for square/rectangular drains since that is the majority of what’s out there.
But we want to be an inclusive company that looks out for the “little guys”… or in this case, the little round guys. So more recently, we introduced the Economy Framed Drain Guards for round drains. These inserts can be quickly and easily adjusted to fit most round drains (Part# 8920 fits drains from 22-25” Dia. and Part# 8921 fits drains from 25-29” Dia.).
Once installed, they perform like our other Drain Guards (“They’re real. And they’re spectacular!”). They can contain up to 0.5 gallons of hydrocarbons and 40 lbs. of sediment, silt, trash, and debris. Find out more here.
Ok, your mind is in the gutter now. Please try and keep it there. See ya’ next week!
