Out of sight, should not be out of mind…
Fire-rated drum safety cabinets were designed many years ago. Their primary goal was to protect the contents from direct flame and heat, but spill control was not a consideration.
The Ultra-Safety Cabinet Bladder Systems allow convenient and economical retrofitting of all drum safety cabinets on the market. By adding these units to your safety cabinet, you can easily comply with fire and spill containment regulations!
Product Highlights
- Easy installation - simply raise existing drum cabinets, slide the Ultra-Safety Cabinet Bladder System in place, and lower the cabinet on top of the structural steel frame.
- Heavy-duty, inner steel framework will keep cabinets stable, even in a fire.
- Designed to retrofit all vertical drum storage cabinets on the market. (See support frame dimensions below for more information).
- The only low-profile spill containment devices specifically for safety cabinets.
- Bring your vertical drum storage cabinets into compliance with EPA 40 CFR 264.175 for spill containment of flammable and combustible liquids.
- Significant leaks or spills unfurl the hidden containment bladder to provide complete spill containment. Small spills are captured inside the polyethylene (LLDPE) sump.
- Low profile design firmly positions drum cabinets only 6 1/4" off the plant floor, thereby allowing wastes to be poured into drum-top funnels at convenient height. The potential for splashes into the eyes or face is significantly reduced as compared to taller containment devices.
- Significant leaks flow over the cabinet door sill and into the polyethylene (LLDPE) containment bladder will automatically unfurl as the sump fills up.
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all listed product measurements are L x W x H, outside dimensions, and for a single unit where quantity is more than one.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is the safety cabinet included?
The safety cabinet is NOT included with our systems, only the containment portion which includes the yellow polyethylene (LLDPE) sump, the black steel frame to support the safety cabinet and the bladder attachment.
-
How do I know if the Ultra-Safety Cabinet Bladder System will work with my cabinet?
Years ago, we designed this product to fit every safety cabinet (designed to hold 1 or 2 55-gallon drums vertically) available at the time. However, it’s a good idea to check the support frame dimensions listed in the table above and/or contact us.
-
How much does the bladder hold?
The bladder adds 66 gallons of containment capacity to each safety cabinet bladder system.
-
My bladder was deployed, what do I do now?
Bladders are NOT reusable so once you’ve transferred the spilled liquid to an approved container and disposed of the used bladder, (in accordance with local and Federal regulations) you will need to install a new one.
-
Is the Ultra-Safety Cabinet Bladder system able to be moved with a forklift or pallet jack?
The systems are easily moved by hand and light enough to be loaded onto a hand truck or dolly but are not designed to be lifted with a forklift or pallet jack.
-
When should the bladder be replaced?
The bladder(s) should be replaced for any of the following reasons: (1) It captures a spill (regardless of the size of the spill), (2) It deploys, rolls, or falls out of the bladder attachment housing. (3) It has sat unused for more than five years.
