Low profile, low-cost spill containment helps meet regulations—takes up minimal storage/shipping space
The challenge with traditional spill containment is that it’s big and bulky. It has to be in order to have the containment capacity for a 55-gallon drum. At least it does if you want to meet the EPA regulations. But big and bulky doesn’t bode well when it comes to shipping and storage.
That’s why we came up with a flexible version of our very popular Ultra-Spill Decks. By replacing the rigid, polyethylene (LLDPE) sump used with our standard spill decks with a rugged PVC fabric, we can drastically reduce the unassembled size of the unit, making it much easier (and cheaper) to store, transport and ship.
But that’s really where the changes end. Once the Ultra-Spill Deck Flexible Models have been assembled, they function the same way as the standard, hard-walled versions. Simply place your 55-gallon drums on top of the grating and if there should be a leak, it will be captured in the PVC sump.
Product Highlights
- Functions like other spill decks/platforms but disassembles into smaller components when not in use - saves valuable storage space and shipping costs.
- The outer yellow sump is constructed of heavy-duty, 18 oz. PVC material - folds/ rolls down easily for convenient storage.
- Decks can be connected with optional bulkhead fittings to create a custom spill containment area.
- Incidental spill and leaks are contained within the sump. In the case of a catastrophic spill, the bladder (included with spill deck bladder system model) will automatically deploy providing an additional 66 gallons of capacity.
- Polyethylene grating is easily removed for quick clean-up.
- Quick and easy to assemble.
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all listed product measurements are L x W x H, outside dimensions, and for a single unit where quantity is more than one.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why would I choose a flexible model spill deck over another model?
If storage or shipping space is a concern, the flexible model will take up considerably less space than the other models.
-
Why would I NOT choose a flexible model spill deck over another model?
The flexible models have a smaller containment capacity. For example, the 4-drum flexible model can contain up to 11 gallons compared to 44 gallons for the standard spill deck. So depending on the application, you could end up needing to connect several more of the flexible model spill decks in order to be in compliance.
-
What are the Ultra-Spill Deck, Flexible Models made of?
The outer yellow sump is 18 oz. PVC and the grating is polyethylene.
-
Can the flexible model spill decks be connected together like the standard spill decks?
Yes. The flexible model spill decks are connected in the same way as the standard spill decks. Using the same bulkhead fittings (Part# 1073) two or more spill decks can be connected in order to share containment capacity and meet spill containment regulations.
-
Can I add and connect spill decks "after the fact", even if the holes haven't been pre-cut?
If a customer knows ahead of time the layout of their flexible spill deck system, we can pre-cut the holes for them so all they have to do when the units arrive is assemble them. However, it is possible to install a bulkhead fitting in the field (including cutting your own holes). Please contact us for more information and instructions.
-
When should the bladder be replaced?
The bladder(s) should be replaced for any of the following reasons: (1) It captures a spill (regardless of the size of the spill), (2) It deploys, rolls, or falls out of the bladder attachment housing. (3) It has sat unused for more than five years.
